DAY 1: KIGALI CITY EXPLORATION.

Start historical-minded exploration of Kigali city with visits to landmarks from colonial, post-independence, genocide and post-genocide times i.e. Kigali Genocide memorial site where over 259,000 genocide victims were put to rest in mass graves, Campaign against Genocide museum, Belgian camp where they killed the 10 Belgian UN soldiers who were protecting the moderate prime minister before the start of genocide

This provides an experience to the tourists on the shopping lifestyle of the Rwandan people and the local products that include food staffs, clothing arts and crafts. The tourist gets understand the living standards of the local people modes of shopping. The tourists gets a chance to interact with the local people/traders and hence experiencing their hospitality.

Inema Arts Centre:

Located in the heart of Kigali City, Inema Art Center is one of East African’s major art galleries, housing a collection of artists from around the African Continent. Today, Inema Arts Center has become a beacon in Rwanda for cultivating creative expression. The centre provides space for 10 artists in residence to explore their creative talent by produce paintings, sculptures, and mixed media expressions.

DAY 2: LAKE IHEMA AND NIGHT GAME DRIVE.

Early morning after having your breakfast, transfer to Akagera national park. Have a boat cruise in the afternoon at Lake Ihema. Boat trips on Lake Ihema give visitors a chance to explore the rich biodiversity in and around the lake. While on a boat trip on Lake Ihema in Akagera national park, visitors are able to see wildlife animals like hippopotami and crocodiles. The lake is well known for having the largest hippo concentration in all of East Africa. In addition to this, visitors can also view lots of bird species such as; the Papyrus Gonolek, jacanas, herons, sandpipers, malachite kingfisher, the hawk, and the rare shoebill stork among so many more. Lake Ihema in Akagera national park is mainly characterized by relatively large seasonal and perennial papyrus swamps. It is in these swamps that visitors have a high chance of sighting the rare and highly sought after Shoebill Stork.

NIGHT GAME DRIVE.

Night game drives exposes visitor to night moving animals which are rarely seen during day time. Some of the night moving animals include; leopards, lions, bush babies, cats and other nocturnal species.

DAY 3: AKAGERA FULL DAY GAME DRIVES.

Early morning breakfast, transfer to the Akagera national park reception for briefing. Later start a game drive in the park in search for the big 5 that include lions, Rhinos, Leopards, Elephants and buffaloes plus the 12 species of antelopes including the biggest antelopes such as the eland cape and roan antelopes, some of the 525-bird species including 4 rare birds of Akagera, reptiles, amphibians, plants, magnificent landscapes, a place with the highest concentration of birds per square kilometer.

Morning game drive done in the Northern part of the park and the evening game drive done in the southern part of the park.

Transfer back to Kigali and drop off at your hotel or airport according to your schedule.
