5 DAYS OF THE REMARKABLE RWANDA
DAY 1: ARRIVAL IN KIGALI AND TRANSFER TO YOUR HOTEL.
On arrival at Kigali International Airport, our representative outside the customs and Immigration hall will warmly welcome you. Transfer you to your Hotel of residence. Overnight stay at Radisson blu.
DAY 2: KIGALI CITY EXPLORATION AND TRANSFER TO AKAGERA NP.
Early morning breakfast and check out formalities. Start historical-minded exploration of Kigali city with visits to landmarks from colonial, post-independence, genocide and post-genocide times i.e. Kigali Genocide memorial site where over 259,000 genocide victims were put to rest in mass graves, Campaign against Genocide museum, Belgian camp where they killed the 10 Belgian UN soldiers who were protecting the moderate prime minister before the start of genocide.
Have lunch and transfer to Akagera National Park. Overnight stay at Akagera Game Lodge.
DAY 3: GAME DRIVE AND BOAT CRUISE IN AKAGERA NATIONAL PARK.
Arrival at the park entrance for a briefing on the does and don’ts. Embark on a morning game drive which gives visitors a chance to search for the big 5 that include lions, Rhinos, Leopards, Elephants and buffaloes, different species of antelopes including the biggest antelopes such as the eland cape and roan antelopes, reptiles, amphibians, plants, and magnificent landscapes. Akagera national park has the highest concentration of birds per square kilometer than any other national park, 525-bird species including 4 rare birds of Akagera.
Boat cruise at Lake Ihema which gives visitors a thrilling boat cruise to see schools of hippos, giant Nile crocodiles, water birds, buffaloes among others.
Transfer to volcanoes National Park. Overnight stay at one and only Gorilla nest.
DAY 4: GORILLA TREKKING.
Early breakfast and transfer to the park reception for registration, briefing and grouping. Completing the park formalities, embark on a life time experience of tracking mountain gorillas. Once you spot them, you are allowed to spend an hour watching the play and feed in the wilderness. Tracking the gorillas through the mountain forest on the slopes of the Virunga is a magical experience. Some gorilla families however are more elusive and tracking can take a full day, especially when it is wet and muddy. Get back at the basement for lunch and take a much needed rest. Overnight at one and only gorilla nest.
DAY 5: GOLDEN MONKEY AND TRANFER BACK TO KIGALI.
Early morning breakfast and transfer to the park reception for registration, briefing and grouping. Embark on the journey to Golden monkey trekking. The Golden Monkeys are now believed that they are the only feasible population of Golden Monkeys residing in Volcanoes National Park. They are beautiful and endangered primates which have become quite habituated to humans, making it possible to observe them.
Transfer to the Kigali International Airport and bid farewell.

When Packing:
Don’t forget a windbreaker or a light raincoat. When tracking gorillas you will be in a rain forest, so it will more likely than no rain. You will need good walking shoes, socks that’s for hiking, Gorilla trekking, chimpanzee trekking. Garden gloves are also recommended to avoid stinging nettles. A light sweater for the evening is recommended and generally long sleaves and trousers worn at this time will help keep the mosquitoes away. If you enjoy swimming, bring your swimming costume, the main hotels in Kigali all have swimming pools. If your itinerary includes Lake Kivu at either Karongi or Rubavu, you will have the opportunity to swim in the lake but kindly follow the advice of the guide. A torch should be recommended for every adventure destination and Rwanda is no exception.
