Itinerary

1 Pick Up and Transfer to Volcanoes National Park

You will be met and greeted by your professional guide, who will walk you through a briefing of the 2 Days Gorilla Trekking in Rwanda. The briefing covers what to expect and what to pack for the trek, including long-sleeved clothing, long trousers, and sturdy hiking boots suitable for forest terrain.

After the briefing, you will transfer to Volcanoes National Park, driving through Rwandaโ€™s scenic countryside characterised by rolling hills, lush vegetation, and rural communities. The drive takes approximately two hours, after which you arrive at your lodge for the night. Upon arrival, enjoy lunch and some time to relax.

In the evening, you may opt to explore nearby villages around the park, interact with local communities, or simply enjoy the calm, green surroundings of the park. Dinner is served at the lodge, followed by a peaceful overnight stay.

2Gorilla Trekking and Return to Kigali

You will rise early in the morning for a hearty breakfast before heading to the park headquarters for a mandatory gorilla trekking briefing. During the briefing, park rangers explain the rules and guidelines to follow while observing gorillas in their natural habitat, ensuring both visitor safety and gorilla conservation.

After the briefing, you will be assigned a specific gorilla family and accompanied by trained park rangers who provide guidance and security during the trek. The gorilla trekking experience begins as you hike through the tropical rainforest, navigating thick vegetation and uneven terrain while spotting birds and other wildlife along the way.

Once the gorillas are located, you are allowed to spend one magical hour with them. This is your chance to observe their social interactions, behaviour, and daily routines up close, while capturing memorable photos that will stay with you forever.

After the trek, you return to the starting point to meet your guide. You will then have lunch before driving back to Kigali, where you are dropped off at your preferred location, marking the end of your 2 Days Gorilla Trekking in Rwanda.
